Team Visits Ronald McDonald House
To support Ronald McDonald House Charities® of San Diego in its mission to provide a home away from home for families with a hospitalized child, the San Diego Sockers visited and provided lunch and smiles to families on Monday, February 10. Visiting players included Quintin Ivy, Jr., Travis Pittman, Ben Ramin, Juancho Salazar, and Xavier Snaer-Williams.
Each year, more than 250,000 complimentary meals are served to families residing at the San Diego Ronald McDonald House and day visitors from nearby hospitals. The House provides three meals a day and, for residents, access to refrigerated and pantry items and six cooking stations thanks to generous charitable donations and assistance from community members and corporate supporters like the San Diego Sockers.
The Sockers have partnered with the charity as part of the organization’s commitment to supporting the community through its six pillars: youth, education, military, service-oriented organizations, health and wellness, and arts and culture.
“The San Diego Sockers are eager to support San Diego’s Ronald McDonald House and raise awareness about the vital services the charity provides those in the community,” said Chasen Eddow, Director of Sports & Youth Community Relations at Frontwave Arena/San Diego Sockers. “We believe this partnership will have a significant impact on the lives of children and families in our community and we’re excited to work alongside the House to make a difference.”
