Sockers To Celebrate Home Opener On December 11

The San Diego Sockers will open their home defense of back-to-back Major Arena Soccer League championships on Sunday, December 11 at 5:05pm in the club’s home opener for the 2022-23 campaign. The match will be played at Pechanga Arena San Diego, which will serve as the Sockers’ home floor for the 11th straight season. An opponent will be announced as soon as the full MASL schedule is released in September.

The Sockers will celebrate their 2021-22 MASL championship in a pre-match ceremony, in which the players and coaches will receive their championship rings. San Diego defeated Florida two-games-to-none in 2022 to capture the Ron Newman Cup Finals, their second straight league championship, and the 16th in Sockers franchise history. The club’s 16th championship banner will drop from the rafters of Pechanga Arena as part of the ceremony.

San Diego will play a 24-match schedule during the 2022-23 MASL season once again. The Sockers went 23-0-1 in the regular season during 2021-22 before defeating Milwaukee, Chihuahua, and Florida on the road to the Ron Newman Cup.

Single-game tickets for the home opener are not yet on sale but an announcement will be coming soon.
