Sockers Withstand Weather, Late Rally in Mexico To Remain Undefeated
On Friday, your San Diego Sockers improved to 7-0 in the regular season thanks to a late goal from forward Aaron Susi with six minutes left in the game. The 5-4 Victory came in the rain playing on the road against the Tijuana Revolucion. The win marks the second time the Sockers pulled out a game since their Nov. 20 victory over defending champion Stockton Cougars by the same score. "The team worked their butt off as a unit to get this win, "said Sockers midfielder Miguel (Chicky) Luna. "This win is a bonding experience for everyone and shows we have heart to win in any conditions. "The Sockers' next game is on Dec. 28 at 6:15pm against the San Diego Fusion at the Del Mar Arena. The Fusion defeated the ASC Hammers from Phoenix in the southwest region qualifier of the US Open Cup Tournament to advance to the next round against the San Diego Sockers.
